An organization that ensures all children and their families have the resources (e.g., Sexual Health Education Blueprint) and opportunities to lead healthy, productive lives and realize their full potential through statewide advocacy, research, and coalition building.
UAMS is Arkansas's only academic health center, leading health care improvement through education, research, and statewide clinical outreach.
The statewide initiative provides clinical provider training on the insertion and removal of postpartum birth control (LARCs and IUDs), and instruction on best practices for patient-centered counseling and insurance reimbursement.
Support teen families
Family Development Center in Little Rock supports young moms through childcare, academic support, mentoring, life skills, and career pathway support. The locally focused program supports teen parents to stay in school, care for their babies, and move toward work and long-term stability.
NWA Family Network supports teen parents by sending trained educators into the home to provide real-time parenting coaching, while also supplying diapers and essential items as Arkansas's national diaper bank affiliate — stabilizing families so young parents can stay in school and on track.
Conway Cradle Care supports teen parents through tutoring, mentoring, parenting education, childcare, and pathways to college or work. With childcare next door to the high school, teens can stay in class while their babies are safe, cared for, and close enough to feed or visit during the day.a
VOTE
Tell your legislators to reinstate Arkansas's Medicaid family planning amendment.
This one policy change could transform thousands of lives, and your legislators need to hear that it matters to you. Here’s what’s at stake:
Families gain control over their future — giving people the tools to decide if, when, and how to grow their family.
2
Health improves before pregnancy even begins — through annual exams, cardiovascular counseling, and fertility education that address risks early.
More people get access to contraception — extending eligibility to low-income individuals and families who need it most.
It's already proven to work — this builds on a proven, effective policy with a strong track record of success.
Reinstating this amendment would expand Medicaid family planning eligibility from 133% to 214% of the Federal Poverty Level — a meaningful step toward healthier futures for Arkansas families.
